WHAT ARE PBC INTERNSHIPS?

Phoenix Bible Church’s vision is to take part in the development of intern participants character, calling, and competency.
It is a 7-month program that culminates with the start of the summer. The weekly time commitment will be 10-15 hours a week including ministry hours, intern development, and 1:1 mentorship.

When do Internships take place?

For 2025/2026, this program begins September 8th, 2025 and concludes April 12th, 2026.

What ministry areas can I serve in as an Intern?

We are currently offering Internships for:

-Worship/Production

-Kids Ministry

-YTH

-College Ministry

What will I do during my Internship?

Goals:

– Under the close supervision of existing staff, interns will have the opportunity to identify their gifts and passions.
-Each intern will be mentored by an assigned supervisor who will offer encouragement, guidance, spiritual disciplines, and practices.
-Although interns will serve primarily in one ministry area, they will be exposed to a broad range of ministries and experiences.

Each week:

Who is eligible for Internships?

Our ideal candidates:

– Are attending a university and seeking a degree that is congruent with some type of vocational ministry.
– Maintain a 3.0 GPA.
– Interns must be able to fulfill a commitment of 10 – 15 hours per week for the entire school year unless approved by the Executive Pastor.

What is the selection process for Interns?

Process:

1. Potential Intern Completes Application (due Sunday, April 27th, 2025)
2. Meet Directors/Pastor via Zoom for an interview (May)
3. Intern Offers Shared via Email (Monday, May 19th, 2025)
4. Attend Intern Orientation Monday, September 8th, 2025 (2pm-4pm)

Potential Outcomes:
a) Become an intern
b) Work through any obstacles
and continue to grow toward leading in the future
c) Conclude that being an intern is not best at this time.
