We have some incredible servant leaders at PBC. One of them is Samson Jeyakumar. Samson leads our college/young adult ministry, “PBC PM”, and is also one of our worship leaders. Get to know some of his story and say Hi when you see him!
Where are you from?
I am originally from the southern part of India but I grew up on the coast of North Carolina.
What brought you to Arizona?
I worked for a company that had a branch in Phoenix. I did not think I would stay here for long but once I got here and got to know the people I couldn’t imagine making a home anywhere else.
Tell us about your family.
My wife and I have been married for 8 months. It has already been quite an adventure.
What do you like to do for fun?
I am a big fan of road trips and good music.
What is your favorite part of your work at the church?
When it comes to any type of ministry, I feel that the most beautiful part is when you do something for God and He uses it for others in ways that you can’t even imagine. I can’t possibly know what everyone is going through in their lives, but sometimes after PBC|PM or after a worship set someone comes up to me and tells me what God did through that moment and I am completely blown away. It sets you straight knowing that He can take whatever you offer and make it something truly amazing.
What excites you about the future of PBC?
Seeing PBC already be such a loving and welcoming presence in the downtown Phoenix community is exciting but I get really excited when I think about what God has planned for us down the road. As long as God is in the DNA of this church we will always be the light he has called us to be.
