“Sex is Just Physical” | 1 Corinthians 7:1-5
The biggest lie of the enemy in regard to sex is, “It’s just physical”. In our movies, music, and even conversations, sex is portrayed simply as an act of physical pleasure. However, from science, to the bible, to experience, we know that sex is actually way more than just physical. Sex involves an intense emotional and relational bond that can bring immense joy, but also debilitating shame. And yet, so often this truth about sex doesn’t get the same publicity in our culture or even in the church. And when it is talked about, it’s usually after people have already experienced pain and shame around sex.
What if the conversations around sex were different? What if we could expose the lie and discover God’s truth about sex before the pain and devastation? What if we could help people understand and experience God’s good design for sex?
That’s our goal this Sunday. We’ll look at 1 Corinthians 7:1-5 and have an honest conversation about God’s design for sex, as well as our culture’s distortion.
